This is my favorite way to add threads using the tailstock die holder. Another way of cutting threads on a lathe is with a geometric die head. This uses 4 cutters and opens when the desired thread depth is met. This tool take a a little bit to set up but once it is, you can cut repeatable threads fast and easily.
