Remember the wreck of S.S. Dicky? Sunshine Coast Council has commemorated the history of the famous wreck with the 'barnacle wall' an interpretive installation at Dicky Beach. The S.S. Dicky was driven ashore at Caloundra during a cyclone in 1893. Attempts to re-float the steamer failed and the Dicky was left to slowly decay over the next century until Sunshine Coast Council endorsed a long term preservation strategy in 2015.
