Do you know that British Sign Language is a complete, natural language that has the same linguistic properties as spoken languages, with grammar that differs from English. For example in English a phoneme is the smallest unit of sound. Phonemes are put together to make words eg the phonemes f/l/o/p make the word flop. There are 44 phonemes in English.
