Fifty years ago today, Frank Robinson debuted as the first Black manager in AL/NL history. On April 8, 1975, Robinson won his first game, leading Cleveland to a 5-3 win over the Yankees. And as player/manager, he served as DH and hit a first-inning home run, the 575th of his career. The Hall of Famer would go on to manage 16 seasons with four franchises, winning 1,065 games. He won the AL Manager of the Year award in 1989 with Baltimore. | MLB
