If you've just taken up drawing, you don't need an iPad Pro. Unless size is an issue for you, the regular iPad (new one with Pencil support) works just as well. I've tried drawing on the one I bought for my mom (caveat: in Sketchbook Pro and not Procreate) and did not notice any difference as compared to the Pro.
