Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Morocco on his way home from the Group of 20 summit in Brazil, underscoring Beijing’s push to develop ties with Africa.

Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has welcomed China’s President Xi Jinping for a state visit at the Alvorada Palace in Brasilia, in the latest sign of deepening ties between the two countries that analysts say may accelerate as Donald Trump returns to the White House in 2025.

China and Brazil announced on Wednesday that they would elevate their bilateral ties to a community with a shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet. Both sides also pledged to synergize the Belt and Road Initiative with the Latin American nation's development strategies.
