A hiker in his 20s was reportedly killed by a brown bear on a Mount Rausu trail in Japan, prompting trail closures and helicopter evacuation of over 71 people from the area.

Frances Marie McMullan, 57, was sentenced Wednesday, Aug. 13, for purchasing goods for private use as a public official.
