Planned Parenthood has filed a lawsuit in hopes of restoring abortion access in Missouri by Dec. 5. COLUMBIA — Many people are left wondering about the next steps for access to abortion care in mid-Missouri after Amendment 3 passed in the general election, enshrining the right to reproductive health care in the state constitution.

Laura Goodhue, the Executive Director of the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, says the vast majority of Floridians support access to abortion and even Donald Trump has said the state's current ban goes too far.

Missourians voted yes on Amendment 3, but the fight over abortion access doesn’t end there. Amendment 3 was put on the ballot by initiative petition, requiring thousands of signatures from people all over Missouri. It faced several legal challenges, such as going to the state’s Supreme Court before settling the matter.
