The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly aren't close to signing Watt to a contract extension after he stayed away from the team through its mandatory minicamp that wrapped up on June 12.

Watt has put together an amazing tenure with the Steelers. He has played in 121 total games with the franchise, racking up 462 total tackles, 108 sacks, 33 forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries, seven interceptions, and 50 defended passes.

Aaron Rodgers might be ready to take the practice field for the Pittsburgh Steelers. T.J. Watt is not. The star outside linebacker skipped the start of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Watt likely is eyeing a new deal as he enters the final year of his current contract.
