An anxiety drug is being voluntarily recalled over a mislabeling error that could be “possibly life-threatening," according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Additional packages of clonazepam, a prescription medication used to treat seizures and anxiety, mislabeled with the incorrect strength have been added to a voluntary recall, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The anxiety-reducing drug, Clonazepam, has been recalled after a potentially "life-threatening" label mix-up, the FDA said in the recall.

Clonazepam, an anxiety drug, is being voluntarily recalled for the potential to cause a “life-threatening” event.

The company, Endo, recalled 16 product lots of clonazepam, a drug best known by the brand name Klonopin. The company said it had not received any reports of adverse events related to the recall. Clonazepam is among a class of psychiatric drugs called benzodiazepines,

The US Food and Drug Administration said taking wrong dose of Clonazepam could result in ‘significant sedation, confusion, dizziness, diminished reflexes, ataxia, and hypotonia’

The company that produces the tablets has said the medication is mislabeled with the incorrect strength on the carton.
