The death toll from the strike on a multi-storey building in central Beirut's Basta district is expected to rise.

Gaza Powerful explosions rocked central Beirut in the early hours of Saturday as five Israeli air strikes hit an eight-storey building in the densely populated Basta neighbourhood. At least 15 people were killed and 63 injured,

Israel was targeting a senior Hezbollah commander, but failed to kill him, one Israeli official said. Hezbollah officials said none of the group’s leaders were at the attack site.
