WASHINGTON — Big Lots has added more than 50 locations to its ongoing store closing list, the discount retailer revealed as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. In a Oct. 11 filing, the Columbus, Ohio-based company identified 56 additional locations it plans to close across 27 states.

The Big Lots store located at the Machesney Town Center is one of 56 stores across 27 states that the retailer will shutter as part of its bankruptcy. The Ohio-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September and has since set 500 of its stores to close.

New rounds of closures were announced in filings in September and October. The store announced 49 store closures on Sept. 20, another 58 closures on Sept. 27 and 46 more closures on Oct. 4.
