A team of Chinese scientists have performed an unprecendented radar experiment: using Starlink satellite signals to detect stealth aircraft and drones.

SpaceX's Starlink satellite network can identify stealth aircraft in the air, a group of Chinese researchers claim. Using the reflected signals of both the satellites and the ground, they have created a technique detecting the shadow an aircraft creates, a technique that could revolutionize the way stealth technology is seen.

In the experiment, conducted off the coast of Guangdong in the South China Sea, a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone was used to simulate a stealth fighter. The drone was chosen due to its radar cross-section, which is similar to that of advanced U.S. fighter jets like the F-22.
