Pixel 6 & 6 Pro May Get Android 16 Update Despite End of Support
The official OS support for Pixel 6 series ended October 2024 but Google has now rolled out Android 16 DP1 to both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

It looks like the Pixel 6’s official Android support may not be quite over. Despite the fact the phone was scheduled to get 3 years of Android updates, which expired last month, the phone has been included in the newly-released Android 16 developer preview — suggesting that it may be getting a surprise Android 16 update sometime next year.
Pixel 6 and 6 Pro getting Android 16 DP1
With the release of Android 16 Developer Preview 1, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are supported. Assuming no issues emerge (like poor performance), this is a good step towards those two phones getting Android 16 when it launches in Q2 of 2025. An intermediary milestone to watch out for would be those devices proceeding to the Android 16 Beta in January.
