American skier Mikaela Shiffrin won a record-tying 15th world championships medal by taking gold in the inaugural women’s team combined event alongside Breezy Johnson.

A team combined event was held at the World Championships for the first time, one year before its Olympic debut.

Mikaela Shiffrin and Breezy Johnson won the gold medal in the new team combined event at the Alpine skiing world championships, rising from fourth place after the downhill leg when the leaders faltered in the slalom.
