Nov. 22, 5 p.m. A flash flood alert in San Francisco has been downgraded to a flood warning as the intense downpour from a California atmospheric river slows down in the city but continues to pummel other parts of the Bay Area. San Francisco’s flood warning is in effect until 6:45 p.m., the National Weather Service said in a social media post.

Some San Francisco roadways and neighborhoods experienced minor flooding Friday as the atmospheric river dumped heavy rain on the city.

San Francisco was under a Flash Flood Warning Friday afternoon due to the heavy rain. Residents were urged not to travel as the severe weather continued. Some of San Francisco's streets are seeing flooding from the atmospheric river.

A third day of an atmospheric river storm has inundated Northern California and the Bay Area, prompting warnings and advisories about local flooding.

On Friday at 2 p.m. the NWS San Francisco CA issued an updated flash flood warning. "At 2 p.m., local law enforcement reported flash flooding in NW San Mateo. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.

The National Weather Service on Friday issued several flash flood warnings in parts of the Bay Area as heavy rain saturated the region.
