Usha Chilukuri Vance, the wife of Middletown native and Vice President JD Vance, made history Monday. With her husband serving alongside President Donald Trump, Usha Vance became the first Indian American second lady in the White House. She is also the first Hindu second lady.

JD Vance wrote about meeting his wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, as a Yale Law School student in "Hillbilly Elegy."

Vice President JD Vance is married to Usha Chilukuri Vance. Usha Chilukuri Vance was born to Indian immigrants who moved to the U.S. in the late 1970s, Reuters reported. She was raised in the suburbs of San Diego, California.
