Storm Bert is bringing periods of wind and gales across Northern Ireland on Saturday. The Met Office have issued two separate weather warnings for the region with a wind warning as gusts of up to 70 mph are expected around costal areas of Northern Ireland.

Storm Bert bringing periods of rain and gales for Saturday. Very windy with persistent and occasionally heavy rain at first, becoming drier with the wind easing towards midday. Mainly dry with bright spells increasing during the afternoon. Milder than of late. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

It follows a significant fall of snow across the Province which left police cautioning drivers to slow down yesterday morning. The Met Office says Storm Bert is set to bring a “multi-hazard event” across much of the UK today following the cold snap.
