Namibia’s president-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah won more than 57 percent of the votes cast with her close rival Panduleni Itula of the IPC getting 26 percent.

Namibia has elected its first female President, with Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah declared the winner of last week's disputed elections. Ms Nandi-Ndaitwah, the current Vice President of the Southern African country.

Namibia will have its first female leader after Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah wins the presidential election.
