Michaels confirmed that “SNL” alum Maya Rudolph will return to portray Vice President Kamala Harris. He also said that Steve Martin will make an appearance this season but not to portray Harris’ running mate Tim Walz, despite calls from people on the internet lobbying for it.

"When he came back to the show last year [to host], we saw, 'Oh right, he’s really talented, and he would’ve been really good for us.'"

The show’s creator, who previously said he might leave the show after season 50, now wants to stay as long as he can.
