A GoFundMe page is raising money for the family of Endicott College police sergeant Jeremy Cole, who died Thursday in a crash on Interstate 95 in Newbury.

Jeremy Cole’s death, which occurred on the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday, ignited an outpouring of sympathy and support from the Endicott College community and police departments around New England.

Community members are mourning the loss of an Endicott College police sergeant killed in a car crash on Thanksgiving morning.

The Newbury Fire Department responded just after midnight to the serious motor vehicle crash on I-95 northbound near Exit 81 and found two passenger cars had crashed head-on.

The fatal crash occurred around midnight on Wednesday when Cole was driving home early Thanksgiving morning after leaving his evening shift on campus, according to a statement from Kerry Ramsdell, Endicott College chief of police.

Jeremy Cole, 49, was driving home at midnight from his shift when his Chevy Trailblazer was struck by a Tesla that was traveling south on the northbound side of the highway.
