Update: A DHL Boeing 737 freighter had an accident while attempting to land in Vilnius, Lithuania – what we know so far.

The aircraft crashed at 5:30 a.m. local time, Ramūnas Matonis — who is the head of communications for the Lithuanian police — tells PEOPLE in a statement. Matonis also said that a Spanish citizen had died in the crash, while three people (from Spain, Germany and Lithuania) were injured.

A DHL cargo plane flying from Germany to Lithuania crashed close to Vilnius Airport, killing a crew member and injuring three others, according to police. The Boeing 737-400, which took off from the eastern German city of Leipzig,

The Lithuanian airport authority identified the aircraft as a “DHL cargo plane flying from Leipzig, Germany, to Vilnius Airport.”

Lithuania has found no sign that the crash on Monday of a DHL cargo plane was caused by sabotage, and believes technical issues were a more likely explanation, officials said on Wednesday.

An aircraft flying from Leipzig on behalf of the DHL logistics firm crashed near the Vilnius airport, killing at least one person and wounding three, the BNS news agency reported, citing an emergency services spokeswoman.

Lithuania is leaning towards a technical cause for the crash on Monday of a DHL cargo plane as it came in to land at Vilnius airport, the country's National Crisis Management Center said on Wednesday.

Recovery work continued on Thursday after the crash of a cargo plane earlier this week in Lithuania. Emergency services continued to collect the wreckage of the Swiftair aircraft, which was travelling from the eastern German city of Leipzig to the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on behalf of logistics company DHL.
