A U.S. Civil Air Patrol plane crashed in the mountains near Drake on Saturday, resulting in an unknown number of casualties, according to the agency.

A Civil Air Patrol plane crashed during a training exercise in northern Colorado on Saturday, killing two people and injuring another person, authorities said.

A news release from the governor's office identified pilot Susan Wolber and aerial photographer Jay Rhoten as the deceased. Randall Settergren, identified by Gov. Jared Polis as the plane's co-pilot, was rescued via a Colorado Army National Guard helicopter, the release said.
