TORONTO (AP) — The Liberal Party has won the federal election in Canada, culminating a process marked by U.S. President Donald Trump threats on a trade war and of making the country the 51st American state.

However, polls show that a large majority of Canadians view Trump in a negative light. A new poll from Politico and Focaldata, which surveyed 2,826 Canadians from April 18 to April 13, found that only 14 percent of respondents view Trump favorably, while 75 percent view him unfavorably.
