Health officials in the Hamas-run enclave said eight Palestinians were killed and dozens of others wounded in an Israeli strike that hit the Al-Tabeaeen School, which was sheltering displaced families in Gaza City. Among those killed were two sons of former Hamas spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, according to medics and Barhoum himself.

Israeli military strikes killed at least 1‮7‬ Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, medics said, as forces stepped up bombardments on central areas and pushed tanks deeper in the north and south of the enclave.

At least 17 Palestinians have been killed in new Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, the territory's Hamas-controlled civil defence force reported on Wednesday. Ten people were killed when a school building in the city of Gaza was bombarded,
