President Donald Trump may join in on Russia-Ukraine peace talks in Turkey on Thursday, as the world awaits to see if Russian President Vladimir Putin will show up.

June 15, 2024: Representatives of 92 nations meet in Nidwalden, Switzerland, to discuss Ukraine’s peace plan. Despite the growing number of delegates, a consensus remains elusive. The summit’s final statement is backed by most – although not all – participants.

Zelenskyy told reporters in Kyiv that he will be in Ankara on Thursday to conduct the negotiations. He plans to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the two will wait for Putin to arrive, he said. Zelenskyy said that if Putin chooses Istanbul to hold the meeting, then both leaders will travel there.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he will be present in Turkey for direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, telling CNN’s Nick Paton Walsh he expects new sanctions to be imposed on Russia if a 30-day unconditional ceasefire isn’t agreed upon.
