The storm took the Seattle area by surprise and struck Southwest Washington around 7 a.m. with 90 mph gusts. Wind-whipped, high-tide waters poured into downtown Aberdeen and Hoquiam, where half of the homes were flooded.

More than 400,000 people are still without power after a bomb cyclone rattled Seattle and other areas in the Northwest. Strong winds knocked trees onto roads and houses and at least 2 people died.
