High winds from Hurricane Milton tore off the fiberglass roof of Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, home of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Hurricane Milton is forecast to retain major hurricane status and expand in size as it approaches the west coast of Florida, the National Hurricane Center said Tuesday. Milton was located about 520 miles southwest of Tampa,

The storm arrived, near the city of Siesta Key, as a category three and was described by the US National Hurricane Center as being "extremely dangerous".

The second option, called a "reverse" storm surge, can expose sand, silt, and debris typically covered by water. It is a strange phenomenon that occurs with the circular winds of a hurricane.

The hurricane brought life-threatening storm surge and heavy rain to a region that was pummeled by Helene less than two weeks ago.
