The FAA says an air traffic controller "instructed American Flight 2246 to perform a go-around," a safety maneuver they say was used to make sure there was enough space between that flight and another leaving the same runway.
An American Airlines plane performed a go-around to avoid getting too close to another aircraft departing from the same runway, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
