While recognizing multiple contributing factors in Buffalo's run to the AFC Championship Game, Miller singled out Allen as the difference-maker most-responsible for the Bills' annual presence amongst the league's elite teams.

Is it fair to put the onus on Von Miller to be the difference maker? Maybe not entirely. But the Buffalo Bills are paying him to fill that role, a fact that points to the end of his tenure with the team.

The Buffalo Bills fell short in the AFC Championship Game, making fans less willing to accept Von Miller's postgame comments.

"That market won't get to $17.4 million, though, which is what the Bills would pay him if he was on the active roster next season. Designating Miller as a post-June 1 release would free up that same $17.4 million in cap space."

The Buffalo Bills signed future Hall-of-Fame edge rusher Von Miller and drafted Baylor linebacker Terrel Bernard during the same offseason. As a result, Miller has had a front row seat to his fellow Texan's development into Buffalo's defensive leader.
