EDMONTON, Alberta -- Kraken forward John Hayden wasn’t the only player showing some spring in his step on a night most of the team had their mothers watching from the stands.

Hayden was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Tuesday. Hayden was close to exhausting his waiver exemption after clearing at the beginning of the year and having two stints on the NHL roster. It's also possible Yanni Gourde (lower body) will be ready to play Thursday versus the Sharks.

Hayden provided an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Oilers. Hayden has two points over his last three contests while filling a fourth-line role. The 29-year-old is challenging Tye Kartye for the last spot in the lineup,
