PORT ST. LUCIE — A Mets camp that features the owner of the largest contract in professional sports history, several injuries to an uncertain rotation and sky-high expectations after a surprise run to the NLCS last season has been “pretty standard” and “normal.”

On Thursday, Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns revealed a pathway for Sproat to get the call to the big leagues. After admitting that he’s been “impressed” with Sproat throughout spring training, Stearns said he believes “ (Sproat) still has development left.”
