Indonesian officials say rescuers have recovered 16 bodies under tons of mud and rocks or that were swept away in flash floods that hit mountainside villages on Sumatra Island.

At least 15 people have died and seven remain missing on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, where torrential rains over the weekend triggered a landslide and flash floods. Rescuers are still searching for survivors.
