The National Guard will be assisting stranded drivers on the road to ensure that emergency vehicles and first responders can get to people who are in need.

Governor Josh Shapiro announced in an X post that he has activated the Pennsylvania National Guard to help residents stranded by Lake Effect Snow in Pennsylvania. According to WJET, residents of Erie County are waking up to their cars being buried in 1-3 feet of snow and closures of major highways and roads.
