The Brooklyn Nets (6-10) came into Friday's NBA Cup game at the Philadelphia 76ers looking to continue the good work that they did to beat the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday and start their road trip on the right foot.

Few would’ve also expected Cam Johnson to morph into a lethal scorer despite his hot shooting touch. Johnson kept up his torrid pace Friday night but the 76ers’ dual closers of Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain were too much, sending the Nets to a 113-98 loss at Wells Fargo Center in Emirates NBA Cup play.

The Nets rank in the top-11 in the NBA in offensive rating (114.3) while the 76ers are dead-last (105.9). Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in defensive rating and are also near the bottom of the Association in pace so this game could come down to if Brooklyn is able to catch fire from the three-point line.
