Another $500 million would be spent toward Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in North Carolina in legislation approved unanimously by the state House

Included is $140 million for the Home Reconstruction and Repair Project and $100 million toward private road and bridge repair and replacement.

A North Carolina state bill giving half a billion dollars to Helene relief is closer to law. The NC House unanimously approved a new spending package to help with relief. However, it still needs Senate approval.

The state House unanimously approved an additional $500 million for Helene recovery Tuesday, including funding to rebuild homes damaged in the storm, clean up debris and rebuild private roads and bridges.
