The Denver Botanic Gardens is heeding the weather warnings and closing for three days as an arctic blast turns Denver weather frigid and snowy.

The City of Denver is extending its severe weather shelter activation into next week. Denver's Department of Housing Stability activated its Cold Weather Shelter plan on Dec. 30 and has extended it until at least 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.

We'll see one more mild day across Colorado before a strong cold front races through Friday night. Temperatures will climb into upper 40s by the afternoon, with light snow developing by evening commute.
