CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating after a person was shot and killed in Clayton County late Wednesday night.

Neighbors tell FOX 5 that they heard gunfire overnight and saw a person lying dead in the front yard of the Clayton County duplex.

A man is dead after being shot in Jonesboro, according to the Clayton County Police Department. Police said officers responded to the 8400 block of Moultrie Drive just before 11:45 p.m. Wednesday and found a man with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Copeland was reported missing on Wednesday Nov. 27. He was last seen around 8:30 p.m. on foot, leaving the area of Bishop Place in Riverdale. Copeland was wearing a black jogger sweater with white writing, blue pants and blue, white and red Jordan sneakers.

The Clayton County Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead just minutes before Thanksgiving.
