Rescuers are searching for a missing Pennsylvania grandmother who is believed to have fallen deep into a sinkhole while searching for her cat with her young granddaughter, authorities said.

First responders in Westmoreland County are searching for a 64-year-old woman who reportedly fell in a 30-foot sinkhole in Unity Township.

Elizabeth Pollard, 64, appears to have fallen into a sinkhole while looking for her cat in Pennsylvania. Up to 100 rescuers have joined the search.

The authorities in Pennsylvania said they had been searching the sinkhole for the 64-year-old woman, and would continue until she is found.

Troopers said the sinkhole is about 30 feet deep, and debris within it has presented difficulties in the search for Pollard, according to KDKA. It opened up above a former coal mine.
