Although much of the conversation this offseason has centered around Juan Soto, Snell is arguably the most coveted starter on the market. The San Diego Padres hit Snell with a qualifying offer last offseason, making him ineligible to receive another. He ended up signing a two-year, $62 million deal with the Giants, and after a second straight strong finish exercised his right to opt out after one year.

As the Boston Red Sox look to ascend back up the American League in 2025, they are reportedly interested in adding top-end pitching. According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the team is talking with free agent left-hander Blake Snell.

The Red Sox were somewhat lightly linked to Snell’s market when he was a free agent last year, as while reports suggested the Sox had some level of interest in the left-hander, other pitchers like Aaron Nola and Jordan Montgomery were ahead of Snell on Boston’s wish list.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that left-hander Blake Snell has recently held meetings with the Red Sox and Dodgers. The Blue Jays are also pursuing Snell, per Rosenthal’s report, and could soon set up a meeting.

Blake Snell hits free agency again after a great season with the San Francisco Giants. Last year, he could not get a long-term deal and signed with San Francisco during Spring Training. This time, Snell is not messing around.
