During an exclusive interview with TODAY, Bob Odenkirk revealed that if Saul were to return, the story would need to reflect where viewers last left him, serving an 86-year prison sentence. Still, for Odenkirk, the role holds a deep personal significance, and he admits it wouldn’t take much to bring him back:

Bob Odenkirk has spoken about returning to Saul Goodman, but I think that would be a mistake because his character has no room to grow after 'Better Call Saul'.

Bob Odenkirk’s character, Saul Goodman, was first introduced in the second season of Breaking Bad, in Episode 8, titled Better Call Saul. He later got his own spinoff series, where the viewers learned how Jimmy McGill became the crooked lawyer, Saul Goodman.
