Heavy rain forced a suspension of play during the final round of the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont with Sam Burns leading by one stroke over Adam Scott.

The event will be back on schedule for the final day, after a weather delay suspended play in the second round on Friday and forced an early morning on Saturday to finish out the round. The third round was also pushed back from its originally scheduled start as a result, but finished on Saturday evening.

The U.S. Open being completed on Sunday is now dependent on the weather and daylight cooperating at Oakmont. NBC's Mike Tirico reported that the U.S. Open could withstand a two-hour weather delay and still finish the final round on Sunday. The delay ended up lasting less than two hours indicating the final round could be completed as scheduled.

Burns shot 69 to finish at 4-under-par 206, one shot clear of J.J. Spaun (69) and Adam Scott (67, matching the day's low round with Carlos Ortiz). Viktor Hovland (70) is 1-under and Ortiz is even par.
