While crews are making progress in coping with the impacts Tropical Storm Helene had on Great Smoky Mountains National Park, some areas of the park remain closed due to damage from the storm.

All the visitors centers in the national park have reopened by now, but some other areas are still off limits.

Park officials continue to advise visitors to reschedule trips to the park, which still has closures and limited emergency resources after Helene.

Many of the trails in the Tennessee side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are open, however, the park shared on Friday that a few areas are still closed following the heavy rainfall from Hurricane Helene.
