The Jets were already searching for a new head coach. Former Tennessee Titans bench boss Mike Vrabel is available and he had an interview in New York last week. More noteworthy: Vrabel, 49, is a former Patriots player as well and the speed his former team moved on from Mayo sure does look like Vrabel is on their radar.

The New England Patriots are moving fast to fill their head-coaching vacancy, with Mike Vrabel set to interview for the job and a request in for Ben Johnson.

The New York Jets are expected to interview former longtime New England Patriots rival coach, Rex Ryan, for their vacant head coaching job. After firing Robert Saleh, the Jets made the decision to move forward with Jeff Ulbrich as the interim coach, but it’s likely a move that isn’t going to stand with the team looking like a total disaster.
