Jimmie Johnson will attempt to make his 22nd Daytona 500. The seven-time champion is going to have a tough go. There are more open cars entered this year in NASCAR‘s season-opener than there have been in a number of years.

NASCAR has announced it will return to racing on May 17th, kicking off its proposed schedule at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. That would begin a bold stretch that would see four Cup Series races in 11 days and seven total events in that span.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Jimmie Johnson will attempt to qualify for the 2025 Daytona 500 (Feb. 16, 2:30 p.m. ET, FOX, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion announced Thursday.

Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson will enter two crown jewels this season inside the No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE he co-owns with Maury Gallagher. Johnson will attempt to make the field in the Daytona 500 next month and also has the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.
