A UN report reveals that Gaza's economy has shrunk to less than a sixth of its size since the Israel-Hamas war began nearly a year ago. The war has devastated infrastructure, leading to massive job losses and economic collapse.

Sarah El Deeb, an AP investigative reporter, documented 60 families from the Gaza Strip who have lost 25 members or more from Israeli airstrikes during the first three months of the conflict.

A total of more than 300,000 jobs have been lost in the West Bank since the war began, UNCTAD said, driving up the unemployment rate there from 12.9% to 32%.

Israel has decimated Gaza's economy, shrinking it to less than one-sixth of its 2022 level, amid an "alarming decline" in the West Bank, the UN said.
