Big Lots had 1,389 stores before the mass closing announcements started. Prior to the September bankruptcy filing, the company had intended to close around 300 stores, but that list has grown by about 50 stores a week in the weeks since.

Retailer Big Lots has filed for bankruptcy protection, with private equity company Nexus Capital Management set to buy the company for $760 million.

Last month in bankruptcy filings, Big Lots said it would close almost 50 more stores, bringing its total planned store closures to more than 340.
