Shubman Gill's return to training ahead of the Adelaide Test fueled speculation about his comeback, as the Indian squad prepared to extend their lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy following a commanding win in the Perth opener.

Assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, speaking to the press in Canberra, said India will assess Shubman Gill's readiness before taking a call on his availability for the warm-up match, starting on Saturday.
