CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Guardians have acquired right-handed pitcher Matt Festa from the Texas Rangers for cash, the Guardians announced Wednesday. The 32-year-old Festa was assigned to Triple-A Columbus and is not on the Guardians’ 40-man roster.

The Guardians added additional bullpen depth on Wednesday, when they acquired right-hander Matt Festa from the Rangers for cash considerations. Festa, who is not currently a member of Cleveland’s 40-man roster,

Cleveland traded Josh Naylor to Arizona for Cecconi and a Competitive Round B draft pick in December, and hestrained an oblique muscle in spring training and opened the year on the injured list. He’s been rehabbing with the big league club at Progressive Field.
