The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) insists on hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, amidst objections by India's cricket body. A recent ICC meeting failed to resolve the contention, and further deliberations are anticipated.

Dubai/IBNS: The International Cricket Council [ICC] on Friday gave an ultimatum to the Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] to accept the hybrid model of hosting Champions Trophy 2025 after India remained firm on its decision to not travel to Islamabad over "security concerns".

Cricket should win, that's most important but with respect for all. We are going to do what's best for cricket. Whichever formula we go for, it would be on equal terms,' PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi told reporters after the virtual meeting with the ICC on Saturday.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be hosted across three venues in Pakistan over February and March next year. But India, who have not toured Pakistan since 2008, told the ICC their government had not given them permission to travel to Pakistan for the event earlier this month.

Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shown flexibility by agreeing to accept the 'hybrid model' for hosting the upcoming Champions Trophy, provided the International Cricket Council (ICC) adopts the same approach for global events scheduled in India until 2031, media reports said.

The International Cricket Council are yet to reach a decision over the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy following a meeting on Friday.

The ICC board meeting for Champions Trophy 2025's future has been postponed and PCB are still adamant on their stance of hosting the tournament in Pakistan.
